This is the branch of pathology that studies and diagnoses diseases based on changes at the cellular level. It uses samples of free cells in contrast with histopathology which studies whole tissue. Test results are available online and in-print within 3 working days from the day of specimen receipt.

At The Specialist Laboratories, we perform cytopathology in various forms:

1. Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology: In this procedure, fluid is aspirated from a solid lump or cyst in the body and analysed for the presence of disease. The procedure is carried out by our in-house pathologist.
2. Body Fluid Cytology: In this procedure, fluid collected from body cavities is analysed for the presence of disease.
